Suspect At Large After 23-Year-Old Redford Man Fatally Shot Outside Home

REDFORD (WWJ) -  Police are searching for a suspect in the killing of young man was gunned down in his driveway.

At around 10 p.m. Thursday police were called to a home in the 9500 block of Hazelton in Redford Township on reports of multiple shots fired and an injured man.

When officers arrived, they found a 23-year-old resident of the home had been shot while seating in a car parked in the driveway.

He was taken to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries, according to police.

The suspect, who was spotted fleeing the area on foot, is described only as a tall, thin man wearing a hoodie.

Police said it appears the victim was specifically targeted by the shooter, although they're not talking about a possible motive for the killing.

The victim's name hasn't been released.
