TROY (WWJ) - A Madison Heights woman is behind bars after police say she stole money out of at least one locker at the Troy Community Center.

Jasmine Samone Brown, 23, pleaded not guilty to a charge of larceny in a building.

Brown was arrested by Troy police on Thursday, Sept. 11 after she was identified on security footage as a suspect in a string of larcenies from the women's locker room at the center, located at 3179 Livernois.

According to police, Brown had gained access to the facility by getting a hold of temporary one-day passes.  She was taken into custody after center staff alerted police; and a police investigation allegedly determined she'd taken an undisclosed amount of cash from a locker.

Bond was set at $5,000 at an arraignment in 52-4 District Court before Magistrate Joanne B. Faycurry over the weekend.

Brown will be back in court for a pre-trial hearing on Monday, Sept. 22.
