Suspect Arrested In Downriver Stabbing Death

TAYLOR (WWJ) - Police say a drunken argument may have led to a deadly stabbing in the middle of a street Downriver.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 8000 block of Clippert, in the area of Pardee and Wick roads.

A 22-year-old man was fatally stabbed and a 23-year-old man was taken into custody, according to Acting Police Chief John Blair.

"We had two friends get into an argument. Unfortunately, they couldn't resolve their conflict," said Blair. "One of them drew a knife, stabbed the other one and we have a fatality because of that."

Police say the men are friends, but the extent of their relationship is not known.

No names have been released; the suspect was identified by his step-grandfather as Shane Buckner.

Faro Misuraca said he doesn't know why his grandson would stab someone.

"It's shocking. Shocking," Misuraca told WWJ's Mike Campbell. "They had a confrontation I guess and as far as I know, he just stabbed a kid."

Misuraca said he was sleeping when the incident happened, and he woke up to Buckner making a phone call. He said the victim has been seen with his grandson in the past.

"That kid's been around for 10, 15 years, you know, in the area," he said. "He didn't come here very often."

Blair says alcohol may have been involved in the incident, which remains under investigation.
