'Supernatural: Tribes' Pilot To Focus On Chicago Monsters, Hunters

The CW has ordered a spinoff pilot for the long-running and popular "Supernatural" series called "Supernatural: Tribes". It joins the company of other spinoffs including Rob Thomas' "iZombie" and CW Seed web series based on "Veronica Mars" as well as "The Vampire Diaries" offshoot "The Originals".

The Hollywood Reporter originally reported the premise. The show will "explore the clashing hunter and monster cultures of Chicago ..." THR also reports that "Supernatural" writer Andrew Dabb will exec produce with Eric Kripke, Robert Singer, showrunner Jeremy Carver and McG. Singer will direct.

The mainstays of the "Supernatural" cast including Jared Padalecki (Sam), Jensen Ackles (Dean) and Misha Collins (Castiel) won't be leaving, but a new character will be introduced to star in Tribes.
