'Supergirl' Renewed For Season 2, Moves To The CW

Fan favorite 'Supergirl' will return for season two and move from CBS to sister network the CW. The show ranks as the No. 1 new CBS drama and fourth-best new series overall among adults 18-49.

The move to the CW expands the networks offering of DC superhero universe to four series including "The Flash," "Arrow," and "DC's Legends Of Tomorrow," all produced by Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler. Earlier this year "Supergirl" and "The Flash" had a very successful cross over episode.

Adler told The Hollywood Reporter, "Season two is going to be more reflective of their past and how they're going to change their future as a result of it in a really emotional way."

Based on the characters by DC Comics, 'Supergirl' is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter for Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. TV. The series stars Melissa Benoist, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, Jeremy Jordan and Calista Flockhart.
