Street Beat: Summer Fun, Summer Safety

On Saturday, May 30, host Karen Carter looks forward to a summer filled with fun activities and learns how to stay safe while enjoying them.

First, Karen learns about motorcycle safety from Joe Kelly, the coordinator of the Motorcycle Safety Program for the Michigan Department of State.

Then, Amanda Wendecker, the Marketing, Public Relations and Meeting Manager for the Michigan Boating Industries Association, talks about boating and boat safety in Michigan.

Then, Karen talks about safe camping with Bill Sheffer, the Director of the Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds.

Finally, Kelli Kavanaugh, the owner of Wheelhouse Detroit, a bicycle rental company on the Detroit Riverfront, talks about the trails, rides, and sights to see when you are riding bikes in the city.
