Southfield (CW50) - This week on STREET BEAT, our Host Lisa Germani covers the topic of Rescue. In her first segment, Lisa interviews Detroit Dog Rescue's Executive Director Kristina Rinaldi about the Detroit Dog Epidemic and the need for support of animal rescues from abusive situations. Kristina brought in Dolores, a 2-week-old Lab, Pit Bull Mix.

Next, Lisa speaks with Audrey Blaylock, Communications Director at the Michigan Animal Rescue League, about providing a sanctuary for abused animals and finding permanent, loving homes for them. Audrey brought in Lizz, a 1 1/2 year old Norwegian Elkhound, German Shepherd Mix.

In the second half of the show, Lisa interviews Maggie Dunn, Founder and Chief Administrator at House of Providence, a shelter which exists to offer a safe and secure option for Michigan's foster youth. Maggie educates Lisa on the foster care crisis in Michigan and helps viewers understand what happens to the hearts of neglected and abused children.
