WATCH Street Beat: Memorial Day

This week on Street Beat, host Jim Johnson from WOMC salutes Memorial Day with a special show dedicated to veterans.

First, Nick Cook, the Director of Targeted Outreach and Performance Management for the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency, explains what this new agency does to help vets.

Then, Lindell Holm, the Director of the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund, shows how this program provides emergency assistance for vets in need.

Next, the Volunteers of America Michigan has a center for homeless veterans.  The center is profiled in a package featuring Paul Beiring, VOAMI Director of Social Services; Inez Brown, Veteran Housing Manager – Detroit; and three veterans who are being helped at the center:  DaMarcus Cox, Dante Vassar, Luther Moore.

Finally, Brian James Egen, the Executive Producer for The Henry Ford, explains the Memorial Day weekend plans at the Henry Ford.
