Watch Street Beat: Researchers Form A 'Dream Team' To Fight Cancer

This week on Street Beat, host Sean Lee talks about cancer, from the diagnosis, to the newest treatment techniques, to maintain hope, and what the Stand Up To Cancer movement is doing to help with the fight.

First up, Sean talks with Dr. Michael Kraut, who is an oncologist with St. John - Providence Hospital. They take an overall look at the fight against cancer, how the fight has changed over the last couple of decades and what new techniques have been developed to conquer cancer.

Next, Sean talks to St. John - Providence radiation oncologist, Dr. Cynthia Browne, for her take on where the fight against breast cancer is heading, and how those treatments have evolved. Sean also speaks with Dr. Muiad Kittaneh, from the Karmanos Cancer Institute, about the Stand Up To Cancer Dream Teams and how the thought of cancer is changing from a "death sentence" to more of a chronic disease that can be managed long-term.

Finally, Sean talks with Alex Garnepudi from the American Cancer Society about the Stand Up To Cancer movement, how the American Cancer Society is involved, and how Metro Detroiters can get involved, as well.
