Stranger Danger: Police Say Man Offered Girl Ride Home, Tried To Coax Her Into Car

HAMBURG TWP. (WWJ) - Authorities are alerting parents after a possible case of "stranger danger" was reported near Brighton.

The incident happened around 1 p.m. Monday near Ore Lake Road and Riverside Drive in Hamburg Township.

According to police, a 12-year old girl was walking home when a man who inside a vehicle that was parked in the roadway called out to the girl and asked if she wanted a ride home. The girl continued to walk and ignored the driver when police say he yelled out: "I have something in the car that you might like."

The girl kept walking and ignored the man. Police say the man then fled the area and was last seen traveling northeast on Riverside from Ore Lake Road.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 50's or 60's with white hair and glasses He was wearing a blue shirt at the time. The vehicle is described as a dark blue 4-door car with round tail lights.
