Stranger Danger: 13-Year-Old Oakland County Girl Followed By Unknown Man

INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Oakland County Sheriff's deputies are conducting extra patrols in an Independence Township neighborhood following a reported case of stranger danger.

At around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, a 13-year-old Clarkston girl, who's a student Sashabaw Middle School, said she was walking in the area of Pine Knob Trail and Pine Knob Lane when an unknown man approached in a vehicle, rolled down his window and told her to get in the car.

When the girl refused, she said, the man turned his car around and began to follow her.  After she ran and hid behind a parked vehicle, the man drove off without further incident.

The teen then went to a friend's house and called her mother who reported the incident to police Wednesday morning.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s with short black hair. The vehicle he was driving was a small, four-door silver car — possibly a Chrysler.

Anyone with information about this incident should call Oakland County Sheriff's Office Independence Twp. Substation at 248-620-4970.
