State Police To Hold Informational Recruit Seminar For Women

LIVONIA (AP) - A state police informational recruiting seminar for woman will be held at Schoolcraft College in Livonia.

The free seminar starts at 10 a.m. Saturday in Kehrl Auditorium at the school's VisTaTech Center.

Interested candidates will receive information on career opportunities with the state police. Current female troopers also will provide insight on recruit training, the lifestyle of a trooper and opportunities for women in law enforcement.

The Michigan State Police is recruiting for trooper recruit schools that begin next year.

Starting salary at the beginning of the 22-week recruit school is $44,000 annually with a $7,800 raise upon the completion of one year.
