State Police Investigating Death Of Man Found In Crashed Car In Holly

HOLLY (WWJ) - Michigan State Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a car in Holly after crash.

Troopers responded at 11:20 a.m. Friday to reports of a car in a ditch along South Holly Road and Hickory Ridge to find the driver unresponsive with no pulse.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

State Police say an initial investigation found that the driver had run off the roadway, striking a utility pole before landing in the ditch.

Police said the driver was not wearing his seatbelt and was found laying partially in the back seat of the vehicle. The vehicle had very heavy damage on the driver's side.

The man was taken to the Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office for further investigation. He has been identified, police said, but his name won't be released until after his family has been notified.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
