State Police Investigate Death Of Man Missing From Campsite

HAMBURG TOWNSHIP (AP) - Michigan State Police are investigating the death of a 43-year-old man who had been reported missing from a Livingston Count campsite.

The Livingston Daily Press & Argus of Howell reports the body of the 43-year-old Hamburg Township man was found shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday in a wooded area near Bishop Lake within the Brighton State Recreation Area.

Police said Livingston County 911 received a call reporting the man missing from a campsite in the recreation area about 10:45 p.m. Friday. Officers and firefighters from at least five departments searched throughout the night for the missing man.

Police said there were obvious signs his death was not of natural causes or accidental. They have not released the manner or cause of death due.
