Spartan Stadium Adds Accessible Seating To Student Section
EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan State University has added wheelchair-accessible seating in the student section of Spartan Stadium ahead of this year's home football season.
The East Lansing school says Wednesday that the $850,000 project includes a platform for 20 wheelchair locations along with additional companion spaces. The entrances to the student sections also have been updated to meet accessibility standards.
The stadium previously was in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act; viewing platforms were across the stadium from the student section.
The project also expands and improves access to the student section for all students with an aim of minimizing wait times for entering and exiting.
