Sources: White Sox Will Make Push For Tigers DH Victor Martinez In Offseason

(97.1 The Ticket) -- Regardless of how the rest of the season plays out, Dave Dombrowski and the Tigers organization is set to have some tough decisions to make during the offseason.

One of the team's top priorities, presumably, will be to resign 35-year-old designated hitter Victor Martinez, who is easily having the best season of his career. According to Bruce Levine of 670 The Score in Chicago, the White Sox will be among the teams making a push to sign the veteran switch hitter.

Martinez is battling for the American League batting title, hitting .328 with a career-high 26 home runs. Martinez has been with the Tigers since coming over from the Red Sox in 2011, but missed the entire 2012 season with a torn ACL.
