Somber Return To The Football Field After Death Of Chippewa Valley Senior Duncan Blair

CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - An emotional return to the football field for students at a Clinton Township high school after the death of one of their own.

Student athletes returned to the field Monday morning for practice at Chippewa Valley High on a somber note after the death of 17-year-old senior Duncan Blair last week.

Blair died in an off-road vehicle accident in northern Michigan. Police say he went off a trail and hit a tree.

Chippeawa Valley's coach, Scott Merchant, admits it's going to be a rough week. Merchant says Blair was a special kid who was always smiling and a team player.

The first games of the year begin August 27.
