Snow Day Vignettes: A Walk In The Snow (Video)

ST. CLAIR SHORES (CBS Detroit) - The heavy snowfall which started Sunday and didn't stop for nearly 24 hours made filled the roadways in St. Clair Shores and snowed-in some vehicles.

For those willing to brave the elements, they could either shovel their way out, wait for a plow or walk to get to their destination.

Joe Breitner and Emily Taylor were among those faced with that decision Monday, and decided to hit the road instead of trying to dig out a car.

They took to the roads to walk nearly one mile from Taylor's house to Breitner's house.

"It's pretty intense," said Breitner as he described the snow fall.

Both had the day off from school. Breitner attends Lawrence Technological University and Taylor attends Wayne State University.

"It wasn't even this bad last year," said Breitner, who said the snowfall was even worse than the year of the "Snowpocalypse."
