Shots Fired Into Crowd At Candlelight Vigil Being Held For Man Killed Sunday

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Shots were fired Monday night at a candlelight vigil being held in Detroit for a man who was shot and killed on Sunday.

Police tell WWJ Newsradio 950 that two people were shot at the vigil, which was being held for a 23-year-old victim who was killed while sitting in his car in the same area on Sunday evening.

A vehicle drove by the gathering, firing shots into the crowd near the 9200 block of Knodell on the city's east side.

A 55-year-old woman and 50-year-old man shot at the vigil are expected to survive, police say.

An investigation is on going.
