Woman shot multiple times in Sterling Heights, suspect in custody
An employee of a senior living center in Sterling Heights, Michigan, was shot multiple times Tuesday morning just outside of the facility, police said.
The woman was taken to an area hospital and she is expected to survive.
The 911 call was placed about 8 a.m., reporting that someone had been shot in the parking lot of Pomeroy Living Center, according to the Sterling Heights Police Department. Pomeroy is near 15 Mile and Dequindre roads.
The suspect, a man who was described as her husband, has been taken into custody.
Both of them lived in Warren.
"Our officers were here very quickly, which makes all the difference in the world with someone with a gun and they're actively shooting at people," police Captain Mario Bastianelli said.
