Several People In Custody, Facing Charges In Teen's Shooting Death Outside Eastland Mall

HARPER WOODS (WWJ) - Authorities say several people are under arrest for the murder of a teenager who was gunned down at Eastland Mall over Christmas weekend.

Harper Woods and Detroit police say officers arrested multiple suspects Tuesday at several locations in Detroit. Few details, however, are being released about the suspects at this time.

Tyrell Lane was shot several times as he walked out of the Burlington Coat Factory around 6 p.m. on December 26. He died of multiple gunshot wounds. Police believe Lane was targeted.

A man initially was taken into custody in connection with the slaying, but was later released after being questioned by police. It's unclear if that man is among the suspects currently in custody.
