Several Cars Strike Pedestrian On I-696

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - Michigan State Police say a pedestrian was fatally struck by multiple vehicles along I-696 in Roseville.

The accident happened Thursday night on eastbound I-696 near Gratiot Avenue.

Circumstances surrounding the incident weren't immediately clear, although it appears the victim was struck multiple times.

Reports say some motorists were "hysterical" after hitting the pedestrian, who has not yet been identified.

Police are expected to release more information on the situation later Friday.

The freeway was closed for several hours while police investigated, but has since reopened.
