See The Palace's New Gloss Black Floor Set Up For The Pistons

(AUBURN HILLS) CBS DETROIT - Are you ready for some Detroit basketball? The Palace is looking ready.

An employee of the venue posted an image of the arena on Snapchat where it was shared on Imgur and the Pistons community on Reddit.

As part of a three year project to renovate The Palace of Auburn Hills the exposed concrete look has been coated with black epoxy with a semi-gloss sheen.

Pistons owner Tom Gores has poured $40 million into renovations to The Palace over the last four years including new smart seats. Vice President of Public Relations Kevin Grigg said, "we expect the seats to be interactive starting next year."

The seats will communicate with the Pistons mobile app to make ordering refreshments to a specific seat easier as well as allow targeted promotions starting in the 2016-17 season. Currently there are 6000 of the new seats installed between the lower level suites and the floor. The rest will be installed over the next two years.
