'Schuette Is Not On Duty On This One,' Says Coleman Young On Flint Water Investigation
LANSING (WWJ) - On the heels of Wednesday's state task force report on Flint, one state senator is calling for Governor Snyder to do jail time. Detroit Democrat Coleman Young II made the comments during an NAACP rally on the steps of the state capital that drew roughly 150 people.
"I think it's the biggest case of criminal negligence I've ever seen," said Young. "The fact that he even said the emergency manager law failed people and we're not changing anything -- I just think it's atrocious."
The national head of the NAACP, Cornell Brooks, made a call for the start of "civil disobedience" from the steps of the state capitol saying that Snyder continues to fail the people of Flint.
"We had a report issued just today holding this governor responsible, my God, we exactly are we going to respond in a serious way?" asked Brooks.
He's calling for a campaign of civil disobedience in response to what he's called the governor's failed Flint policy.
"We promised ourselves and the nation that in 30 days we would come and stand and hold this governor accountable for his actions," Brooks told the crowd.
