School Closing Message From Choir Gets Creative With Take-Off On 'Royals' By Lorde

WALLED LAKE (WWJ) - Word of a snow day is music to the ears of any school kid -- but the choir at Walled Lake Northern High School was inspired enough to put their snow day announcement to song ... specifically, a take off of the Lorde's song "Royals."

Like hundreds of other local school districts, Walled Lake Consolidated Schools are closed Monday and this district decided it was something to sing about.

It's not the first time this choir has sung the tunes of their school closing due to snow -- last year they sang a rendition of "Do You Want to Build a Snowman" from the movie "Frozen."

As snow tapered off on Monday -- thousands of school kids around southeastern Michigan got to sleep in - taking advantage of the winter blast that hit the Great Lakes region.
