Sales Spike After Ben Affleck Sports 'Detroit City' Shirt In ALS Challenge Video

(WWJ) -- Actor Ben Affleck is causing a stir and increasing sales for one Detroit t-shirt company.

Pure Detroit said that ever since the actor wore their "Detroit City" t-shirt while doing the newly popularized "Ice Bucket Challenge," sales have spiked. Affleck has spent quite a bit of time in Detroit filming the new "Batman vs. Superman" movie.

So far Pure Detroit has received 400 orders for the shirt. The company is donating 25 percent of its sales of the shirt to the ALS Association.  3-thousand dollars has been donated so far.

The film stars Ben Affleck, who is taking over as the new Batman, with Henry Cavill reprising his role as Superman and Gal Gadot stars as Wonder Woman. Affleck has been spotted around town, working out and getting in shape.
