DETROIT - After talking at length about the decision to place veteran designated hitter Victor Martinez on the disabled list, Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus provided updates on reliever Bruce Rondon and starting pitcher Justin Verlander.

"Rondon's going to go on a rehab Thursday, and if that goes well, he'll take another one on Sunday," Ausmus said Tuesday. "After that, we'll see."
