Robber Forces Gas Station Employees To Bag Stolen Cigarettes At Gunpoint [VIDEO]

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) -- Police in Roseville are looking for a man who forced gas station employees to bag cigarettes for him at gunpoint on Saturday.

The robbery took place at the Speedway gas station at 13 Mile Rd. and Little Mack Ave. at around 8 a.m.

The suspect entered the store several minutes prior to the actual robbery and walked around, apparently checking the location of the cigarettes. He the went into a storage room for the cigarettes, unseen by employees.

While in the room, the suspect used storage boxes and a ladder in an apparent attempt to hide his presence while placing cartons of cigarettes in a plastic bag.

The suspect was then caught by one employee who walked into the room before the suspect pulled out a handgun and ordered the employee to place cigarettes in a bag. A short time later, a second employee saw what was going on and was ordered to load cigarettes into another bag.

While placing cigarettes into the bag, the second employee pushed past the suspect and yelled "gun." The suspect then picked up one bag of cigarettes and fled the store.

Last seen on foot, the suspect ran through the parking lot, carrying a black plastic garbage bag full of stolen Newport 100s.

He is described as a black male around 35-year-old, 5-foot-6 and 140 pounds wearing a black knit cap, a gray hoodie and gray sweat pants.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call 586-447-4508.
