Road Worker Seriously Hurt In Accident On M-14

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Two people, including a construction worker, were hurt in an accident that closed down a local freeway Tuesday.

It happened around 1:15 p.m.  on westbound M-14 near North Territorial in Plymouth Township.

According to police, an SUV was approaching a construction zone when the driver apparently lost control, striking a road worker as the vehicle rolled over.

The road worker was airlifted to University of Michigan Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the SUV was hospitalized with minor injuries.

M-14 was shut down at Beck Road following the crash, but the freeway reopened at around 4 p.m.
