Road Closures: Resurfacing Beginning For Some Roads In Rochester Hills

ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) - Road crews in Oakland County are bringing out more orange barrels.
Tienken Road between Adams and Livernois in Rochester Hills will be closed beginning Monday as workers resurface the road.

Craig Bryson, with the Road Commission for Oakland County, says they'll be resurfacing the road.

"They are going to start at the Adams and the first section to be worked on will be between Adams and Brewster roads, and that section will be closed first," said Bryson. "During the closure the detour route is going to be Adams to University or Walton Blvd to Rochester Road and back up to Tienken.

He says the county has worked closely with the city of Rochester Hills to find the funding for the project.

"The road is in very rough shape - it was badly in need of resurfacing ... it's just a very rough road right now," said Bryson.

The $5.3 million construction project is expected to reopen in early August.
