Reward Offered For Tips To Identify Armed Gas Station Robber

ST. CLAIR SHORES (WWJ) - A cash reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest in the armed robbery of a St. Clair Shores gas station.

The crime took place Saturday, Aug. 16 at 8:35 a.m. at the Sunoco at 32300 Harper Ave. near Masonic Blvd.

Police said that after bringing a beverage up to the counter and paying for it, the drew a black handgun from his coat pocket, pointed at the clerk, and demanded money from the cash register.

According to Crime Stoppers of Michigan, the clerk remained calm and complied with the robber's demand.

After the clerk handed over some money, the robber fumbled and dropped some of it, but he picked it up before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect, who was captured on security video, is a black male, 25 to 35 years old; between 5 feet 7 inches tall and 5 feet, 9 inches tall and around 165 lbs.  He was wearing a black jacket, a white shirt, black pants and a dark green baseball cap with a black brim.
