Southfield Toys R Us Closing Doors After 45 Years
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Shoppers in Southfield will have to find a new place to buy their toys and games as the city's long-standing Toys R Us store is closing its doors.
The store, located in the Tel-Twelve shopping plaza on Telegraph Road just south of 12 Mile Road, will officially close at the end of January when the building lease is up.
"We've enjoyed serving the Southfield community for many years," Alyssa Peera, Toys R Us spokesperson, said in an email. "At this time, we do not have any plans for a new store in the Southfield area."
Shoppers can find nearby Toys R Us stores in Livonia, at 29150 W. 7 Mile Road, and in Madison Heights, at 32700 John R. Road.
