Report: Tigers In 'Serious Talks' With Free Agent SP Jordan Zimmermann

The Detroit Tigers are using free agency to hunt down starting pitchers to improve what became a struggling rotation in 2015.

Jordan Zimmermann would go a long way to help that cause.

Reports surfaced late Saturday night that the Tigers and Zimmermann have begun "serious talks" about the right-hander signing with Detroit.

The 29-year-old has spent his entire seven-year career with the Washington Nationals. He was selected as an All-Star in 2013 and 2014.

Zimmermann posted a 13-10 record, a 3.66 ERA and 164 strikeouts in 201 1/3 innings in 2015.
