CBS DETROIT - Anthony Mantha, one of the most highly touted prospects in the Detroit Red Wings organization, could be on the trading block, according to a report by Damien Cox of Sportsnet.
At deadline, DET unwilling to move either first round pick or prospect Anthony Mantha. Now willing to deal either or both.

Mantha, whom the Red Wings selected with their first-round draft pick in 2013, turned in 15 goals and 18 assists in 62 games for the Grand Rapids Griffins last season. Over 16 playoff games, he had two goals and two assists.
Cox reported the Red Wings received interest in Mantha at the trade deadline last year but did not want to move him.
Btw, if Wings had been willing to move Mantha at trade deadline, Dion Phaneuf would have become a Red Wing.

The proposed deal, btw, was Phaneuf for Weiss, Smith and Mantha. DET didn't want to surrender Mantha at that time.

Dion Phaneuf is a veteran defenseman for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He scored only three goals, a career low, in the 2014-2015 season, and also had 26 assists.
