Report: Pistons Hiring Quentin Richardson In Player Development Role

CBS DETROIT - The Detroit Pistons will hire 13-year NBA veteran Quentin Richardson in a player personnel and mentoring job, according to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Richardson, 34, played with five different teams in his career - the Los Angeles Clippers, the Phoenix Suns, the New York Knicks, the Miami Heat and the Orlando Magic. Richardson spent his first four seasons with the Clippers before signing a $45 million deal with the Suns. Phoenix traded him after one season, and Richardson then spent four years with the Knicks before becoming more of a journeyman toward the end of his career.

Richardson's time in Orlando - the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 seasons - overlapped with the tenure of new Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy, who was the head coach of the Magic from 2007 to 2012.
