Back in 2009, I was producing the Valenti and Foster show and I preached to Mike Valenti that the Detroit Pistons needed to draft then-North Carolina guard Ty Lawson in the first round.

Mike sat there and told me there was no way he would be around at 15. Lawson was available and the Pistons decided to draft Austin Daye. We all remember how that experiment went. Lawson was eventually drafted 17th by the Denver Nuggets.

According to SI.com the Detroit Pistons have expressed interest in Lawson.

Houston, Detroit and the L.A. Lakers are among the teams that have expressed interest in Lawson recently, and there remains a strong possibility the Nuggets could unload Lawson before training camp.

Lawson has recently been in trouble with the law. He just received his second DUI arrest in the last year.

He averages 15.2 ppg and 9.6 apg in the 2014-15 season.
