Report: Michigan Officer Fired Shot Through Classroom Wall, Hitting Teacher; Tried To Cover It Up

AUBURN, Mich. (AP) — Reports obtained by a newspaper show a police officer tried to hide firing a weapon in a Michigan school that sent a bullet through a wall and grazed a teacher.

Police documents obtained Monday by The Bay City Times show Bay County sheriff's Deputy Adam Brown fired a pistol last month in Bay City Western High School's robotics classroom while testing trigger pull with a force machine.

Reports describe the bullet passing into another occupied classroom, striking a teacher in the neck.

Records say Brown didn't initially confess and threw the bullet into the schoolyard. The former school resource officer later admitted to it.

No charges have been filed as the case is reviewed. Brown has been reassigned.

The Associated Press left a message on what's believed to be Brown's number.
