CBS DETROIT - The Miami Marlins have queried the Detroit Tigers about the availability of starting pitchers David Price and Rick Porcello, according to a report by Jon Morosi of Fox Sports.

Morosi writes the talks are not serious at this point.

Price, the four-time All-Star and 2012 Cy Young winner whom the Tigers acquired at the trade deadline, struggled to pitch consistently in the second half of the 2014 season but overall worked 248 1/3 innings, more than any other American League pitcher, and led the league with 271 strikeouts.

The 25-year-old Porcello enjoyed a breakout season in 2014, recording an ERA of 3.43 over 204 2/3 innings. He also threw three complete games and three shutouts, and he almost snagged an All-Star berth.

Both Price and Porcello will be free agents after the 2015 season.
