Report: Lions To Interview Patriots' Bob Quinn For GM Position

"Black Monday" in the NFL is usually reserved for firings, but the Lions are working to do the opposite. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter's, the Lions have been granted permission to interview the Patriots' director of pro scouting, Bob Quinn, for the organization's open general manager position.

Earlier Monday, Schefter also reported that the Lions would be interviewing Trent Kirchner, who is currently serving as co-director of player personnel for the Seahawks.

Ernie Accorsi, a former NFL general manager himself, is helping lead the Lions' GM search. Outside of interim GM Sheldon White, who will interview for the permanent job, Kirchner and Quinn are the only two names that have officially popped up. The Seahawks and Patriots - the two teams where those candidates are coming from - have been two of the better franchises in recent years.

Team owner Martha Firestone Ford and president Rod Wood have both been silent on details of the search thus far.
