Jim Harbaugh made every fifth year senior tryout during spring practice to make the team this fall.

Fifth year senior tight end Keith Heitzman told the Columbus Dispatch that he was surprised by the concept of making varsity letter players tryout to make the team.

Heitzman was redshirted as a freshman in 2011, then earned varsity letters in 2012, 2013 and 2014. He appeared in 36 games.

He told the Dispatch, ""Obviously, (Jim) Harbaugh coming in was going to change things at Michigan — do things his way, but I didn't know if I wanted to try out. That definitely took me off-guard. I was bummed out."

Heitzman has decided to transfer to Ohio University and will use his final season of eligibility as a graduate student.

Do you have a problem with Jim Harbaugh making fifth year seniors tryout for the team?
