Report: Federal Agents Targeted By Thieves Outside Batch Brewery In Corktown

DETROIT (WWJ) - Federal agents were just trying to grab a bite to eat in Detroit's Corktown when they were apparently targeted by thieves.

Detroit police are not yet commenting on the incident, which reportedly happened Wednesday night near the Batch Brewing Company on Porter Street, not far from Trumbull Avenue.

According to reports, two agents were inside the brewery having dinner when thieves broke into their unmarked vehicles. The crooks allegedly made off with laptops and other equipment.

Homeland Security is now going over the vehicles, looking for fingerprints and other evidence that might identify the suspects.

Corktown has seen a rash of robberies and break-ins in recent weeks. Police have reportedly been working to curb the problem.
