Detroit Tigers Trade Yoenis Cespedes To New York Mets

With little time remaining in the 2015 MLB trade deadline, Tigers' GM Dave Dombrowski pulled off one final move.

The Tigers traded left fielder Yoenis Cespedes to the New York Mets for a pair of minor league pitching prospects.

The Mets will send minor league right-handed pitchers Luis Cessa and Michael Fulmer to Detroit as part of the deal.

Cespedes came to Detroit with Alex Wilson for Rick Porcello back in December.

The 29-year-old left fielder is hitting .293 with 18 home runs and 61 RBI with an OBP of .323.

There have been multiple reports that Cespedes would be willing to return to the Tigers next season even if he were traded.
