Report: Cabrera Could Be Cleared Tuesday

CBS DETROIT - Detroit Tigers star Miguel Cabrera could be cleared to play Tuesday, when he goes for what should be his final checkup following offseason surgery, according to Chris McCosky of the Detroit News.

Cabrera, the team's first baseman and a two-time MVP, had bone spurs removed from his ankle and a stress fracture repaired in his foot Oct. 22. In the 2014 season, the first baseman played 159 of 162 games despite the injuries and still turned in a batting average of .313 and 25 homers.
