Report: Alcohol A Factor In High Speed Crash That Killed Teen In Fraser

FRASER (WWJ) -- One teenager is dead and three other people are injured after a crash early Saturday morning.

The incident happened around 2 a.m. Saturday at 14 Mile Road and Groesbeck. Fraser police say the 19-year-old was sitting in the back seat of a 1996 Lincoln Mark 8 at a red light when a Buick SUV hit them from behind at a high rate of speed.

Three others -- two in the front seats and one in the back of the car -- are expected to be okay.

WXYZ is reporting that 24-year-old driver of the SUV is in custody and is expected to be arraigned Monday. Police say alcohol does appear to be a factor in the incident, which remains under investigation.
