Repo-Man Alleges Attack, Told To 'Drop The Car' At Gunpoint

MT. CLEMENS (WWJ) - A case of a bad situation getting worse in Mt. Clemens as a repo-man alleges an assault while trying to do his job.

On Monday Macomb Sheriff deputies were called to a home on Washington Street where the owner of a car about to be repossessed had allegedly threatened a man taking possession of the 2005 Chevy Suburban.

According to reports,  Howard McSwain, 63, pointed a gun at the repo-man, and told him to 'drop the car,' after which a scuffle between the two men happened. McSwain lost possession of his gun and drove away in a car which was not being repossessed.

McSwain returned to the home when called by police - he was arrested and later charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and a weapons charge; possession by a felon.

He was released on a $10,000 bond shortly after his arraignment.
