Remains Found In Michigan Woods Identified As Man Missing Since 2013

PLEASANT PLAINS TWP., Mich. (AP) - Authorities say human remains found in a wooded area in western Michigan have been identified as those of a man missing since 2013.

The Lake County sheriff's department says the bones found Oct. 27 by a hunter in Pleasant Plains Township are the remains of 61-year-old Terry Lynn Mahan.

The department says the remains were identified using dental records. The man from the nearby community of Baldwin had been reported as missing by his landlord.

The bones were found along with bits of clothing and a flashlight. Authorities say there was no sign of trauma, but cause of death is undetermined. The sheriff's department is trying to find family members of Mahan and the investigation into his death is ongoing.
