CBS DETROIT - In the wake of his release by the Detroit Lions, veteran running back Reggie Bush will be putting his Birmingham home up for sale, according to the Detroit News.

Bush bought the 8,000-square-foot house for $1.8 million in 2013 and will list it for $2.49 million this week, per the News. The house was built in 1998 and updated in 2012. Pictures show the home - which comes with furniture, including a grand piano - as contemporary, with windows across the back of the house that look out to a pool.

The house also has a theater room and a three-car garage. The decorating was done by Jeffrey King Interiors in Birmingham.

Last season, injuries limited Bush to 297 yards on 76 attempts over the course of 11 games for the Lions.

Following his release by the Lions, Bush signed a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers. His base salary for the upcoming season is $1.6 million.
