Referee Knocked Out By Elbow After Throwing Opening Tip [VIDEO]

I'm almost positive not too many people were watching the Vanderbilt and La Salle game this past Saturday.

But what happened at the beginning of the game is something I haven't seen before.

Referee Rick Crawford threw up the opening tip and almost instantly caught an elbow to the back of the head, which left him unconscious on the floor.

Crawford was treated and was released from the hospital on Saturday.
