Redford Theatre Screens 'Somewhere In Time' Just In Time For Valentine's Day

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) -- Looking for something romantic to do this weekend? Take your valentine to see, the movie fantasy Somewhere In Time, starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour.

The 1980 film classic, filmed right here in Michigan on Mackinac Island, is playing on the big screen at the Redford Theatre on Friday and Saturday.

Jo Addie, president of the Somewhere In Time fan club spoke to WWJ Newsradio 950's Chrystal Knight on Friday. She explained how a simple visit to the movie set landed her a role as an extra in the film.

"I literally went to watch the filming being done...and it was such an amazing thing because through a series of circumstances I ended up being put in an outfit in a carriage and on my way to the ball," Addie said.

Addie is not only the president of the film's fan club and an extra, but a friend of the late Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. She will be at the theater over the weekend to meet with fans.

"It's one of those movies that if you have not yet found 'the one' it gives you hope that you yet will," Addie said. "If you have found 'the one,' it makes you realize how special that is with the hope that it will last forever, and if you've lost the one you love it gives you hope that you'll find them again."

The film will be shown at 8 p.m. on Friday as well as 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased HERE.
