Red Wings Assign Mrazek To Griffins

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today assigned goaltender Petr Mrazek to the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins.

A native of Ostrava, Czech Republic, Mrazek has appeared in seven games for Detroit this season, posting a 1-3-0 record with a 1.64 goals against average, a 0.924 save percentage and one shutout. In nine career contests with the team, the 21-year-old netminder is 2-4-0 with a 1.74 goals against average and a 0.923 save percentage. Mrazek has also played 13 games for Grand Rapids this season, where he has won each of his last nine starts dating back to Oct. 30. The second-year pro is 10-2-1 in the AHL this season, alongside a 2.09 goals against average, a 0.927 save percentage and one shutout.

In 55 career games with the Griffins, Mrazek sports a 33-18-3 record, a 2.27 goals against average, a 0.918 save percentage and two shutouts. He helped Grand Rapids capture its first Calder Cup championship with a 15-9 postseason record, a 2.31 goals against average, a 0.916 save percentage and four shutouts.
